And suddenly it's September...

The end of September and already three-quarters of 2014 has gone. We didn’t have much of a summer—no walks around the Bay or trips to a favorite eatery on the Beach, but the weather has been beautiful the past few days here in the Niagara Peninsula. Temperatures in the 70’sF and cloudless blue skies. Now, the leaves are starting to change color. Two weeks from today, October 13, is Canadian Thanksgiving. By then the maple trees will have erupted with their annual blaze of gold, orange, and red to let us know that the chill of winter isn’t too far away.
2014 marked the start of my Peninsula Heights series: IT’S COMPLICATED and LOOKING FOR ANSWERS. Both are available from www.amberquill.com, www.amazon.com, and www.allromanceebooks.com.  There will be more books in this series—I’m working on a sequel to Looking For Answers, no title as yet, but it will wind up the mystery that started in It’s Complicated, and OH, WHAT A KNIGHT, part of the KNIGHTS theme AmberPax, will be released by AmberAllure sometime in the early part of 2015.

2014 also saw the release of LONDON CALLING, a paperback collection that includes the four books in the series: Raindrops And Roses, Simply Irresistible, One Perfect Night, and A Happy Christmas Ending - http://www.amberquill.com/store/p/1988-London-Calling.aspx

This has also been The Year Of The Ghost. I had a great time co-authoring THE GHOST WORE DENIM with fellow Amber Quill author KC Kendricks, and it will be released October 5, 2014 by AmberAllure.  The story is set in a suburb of Williamsburg, Virginia, and features a university professor, a sheriff’s deputy, and a nosy ghost. KC chose the location, but when I read through the galley the other day I truly could not figure out which parts each of us wrote, we were that in sync with the characters and the plot. The end screams for a sequel and I already have an idea for the opening scene, but we’ll have to see where we can fit it in with our other commitments.

I love ghost stories and the collaboration with KC sparked another ghostly idea which resulted in RISING DAMP to be released by AmberAllure on November 9, 2015: When Matt Jones takes a temporary job as a housekeeper/housesitter he’s worried about patching up a misunderstanding with his new boyfriend. He has no idea he’ll be sharing the premises with a displaced ghost. And he would never, not even in his wildest dreams, have imagined that a ghost could be sexy or that life with a ghost would be both exciting and rewarding.
On October 19, 2014 MISSING, BUT NOT DEAD, my second contribution to the AmberCove mystery series, will be released as part of the California Dreamin’ AmberPax: When Greg Stewartson, ex-cop, private investigator, and half-owner of Amethyst Cove Security & Investigations, meets Ash Tyler, a handsome and very sexy nurse, their mutual attraction turns Greg’s world upside down. Greg would love to just concentrate on their budding romance. But he also wants to help Ash find his biological family—the one Ash says he had before he was taken into care, adopted and moved from California to Michigan more than twenty years ago. Although if they were Ash’s real family what made them vanish almost as effectively as if they’d never existed in the first place?

Over the past year or so, KC Kendricks and I have also tried our hands at something a little different. Writing as Parker Linn, we came up with our version of what happens when an out-of-work construction guy decides to become a professional escort. Each of the five stories were so much fun to write—especially one that I’ll probably never stop laughing about, and they’re all available individually or as a paperback collection at http://www.kckendricks.com/ParkerLinnProject.html

We hope you enjoy Michael and Colin's story because we sure had fun writing it. I think there's more to their story, quite a bit more. I know KC will want to slap me for even mentioning it, but we'll see...

BLAME IT ON FATE
By Christiane France
Contemporary m/f
I guess the title says it all. While in England on family business, Kate had a three-day fling with a fellow American—a "ships that pass in the night" kind of thing. She never expected their paths to ever cross again, but three months later, Paul turns up in Kate’s hometown. The feelings are definitely still there between them. She knows this is no simple coincidence, and she believes Fate is responsible for bringing them back together.

But then Kate discovers Paul has taken a teaching job at the same university where she is a student. And River City U has a strictly enforced zero-tolerance policy when it comes to romantic entanglements between the staff and the students...

“God! You have no idea how much I want you.” He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close again. “How much I’ve wanted to just hold you, to feel you close like this. I thought what we had in London was just a one off thing. Something I’d forget after a few days.”
          “I thought that, too.”
          “And?”
          “Didn’t happen.”
He urged her deeper into the alleyway. “I want you, baby. I want you so damn bad I can’t even think straight.”
“I know the feeling.” She quickly unzipped his pants and touched his cock. It was hot, it was hard, but before she could crouch down and take him into her mouth, his hands were pushing up her skirt and pulling down her panties.
As her panties fell to her ankles, she kicked them off along with her shoes, and he slipped a finger between her legs and began to slowly move it back and forth. “How’s that?”

My Sexy Saturday - THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM

September 6, 2014:

For this week’s MySexySaturday http://mysexysaturday.blogspot.ca/ I have seven paragraphs from The Impossible Dream.

I fall in love with all my male characters, but Theo and Stef have something so special going on they even amazed me. They go together like strawberries and cream, or peanut butter and jelly, or…or… They are so in love, so much two halves of a whole, I can actually imagine one of them saying to the other that famous Robert Browning line, “Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.”

THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM
By Christiane France
Contemporary m/m gay

Theo Keen always dreamed of strutting his stuff from behind the footlights, either as a high fashion model or an actor. He’s taken modeling courses and acting lessons, but a case of seemingly incurable stage fright has prevented Theo from realizing his dream. Until one cold, snowy February afternoon Theo is helping his brother, Lance, with the annual Mardi Gras Ball and Fashion Show and an emergency arises--both volunteer male models have cancelled at the last minute and this year’s designer is an up and coming celebrity. With show time only an hour or two away, it’s too late to find replacements, and Lance is in a panic. Theo is the only person who can save the night, so Lance tells him to forget the feeble excuses and just do it.
Theo can’t just do it. He’s spent years of counseling and therapy trying to overcome his problem, but that hasn’t happened and he doubts it ever will. But then the designer, Stefano Spadifora, comes into the dressing room where Theo is working and Theo’s life does a complete one eighty. Suddenly the impossible becomes possible and Theo senses that after tonight, nothing about his life will ever be the same.
^ ^ ^
The cool touch of Stef’s hands as he separated Theo’s butt cheeks and the heated wetness of his tongue as it moved down his crack were all the foreplay Theo needed. He was shaking with anticipation, ready to shoot his load without further encouragement.
Then Stef backed off. Wrapping his arms around Theo’s waist, he began rimming his ear with his tongue while his hands took possession of Theo’s cock. “It feels so good like this. The two of us together, I mean.”
“For me, too. But…” Theo sucked in a breath as Stef’s clever fingers gripped the base of his dick, holding him firmly on the edge while he proceeded to caress his balls.
“But what? You want me to hurry up?”
“No. I’d much prefer it if we could just take our time. We have all night, so there’s no reason to hurry. I…umm…I just wish you didn’t live so far away.”
***
If he was honest, Stef wished the same thing. He already knew what he felt for Theo wasn’t going to be satisfied with one quick fuck or even one whole night together. However, with the future of his business in jeopardy, his personal life had to take a backseat—at least until the trip to Europe was over and he could assess the potential outcome.
As Theo’s butt nudged against his belly, however, Stef pushed his business worries away, determined to concentrate on the here and the now. It wasn’t often he met someone who attracted him the way Theo did—someone who had the ability to make him think of caring and sharing, rather than basic sexual needs and getting his rocks off asap in some dark corner. He tried to imagine what it would be like, living here in this house with Theo and his cats. Would they get along okay or would they fight? And if they fought would they have the greatest time later making up?
